The collection comprises well-composed pictures of buildings, patients, and staff in hospitals and health-related facilities throughout the city. It includes images of buildings and "inmates" in various institutions on Blackwell's Island (Welfare Island), also known as the Almshouse; and a good series of ambulance photos.
