The Fred Neuman Collection is an original collection of photographs and documents that were previously owned by Fred Neuman. The majority of photographs were purchased from the Neuman estate. Of particular interest are early photographs of Paducah and a number of items pertaining to Irvin S. Cobb. Frederick Gus Neuman (December 22, 1893-March 31, 1953) was an American author and newspaper columnist for numerous Paducah newspapers. A WWI veteran, Neuman also authored The Story of Paducah, Paducahans in History, Youth and Other Things, as well as two biographies of his good friend Irvin S. Cobb.
