This collection contains recordings of citizens of Livingston, Ballard, and McCracken Counties in the Jackson Purchase region of Kentucky. The interviewees recall experiences and memories related to their lives and local communities. Some interviews contain performances of traditional folk and gospel music. Interviews were collected by the Kentucky Oral History Commission between 1974 and 1979.
