The Kate Rudy Emery Collection is an original, private collection of photos primarily consisting of interior and exterior shots of Rudy's Department Store during the early 1920's. Located on the 300 block of Broadway in downtown Paducah, Rudy's Department Store was renowned for its elaborate window displays which highlighted holidays, seasons of the year, and annual events, including Christmas, Easter, and graduations. The interior shots exhibit how vast the space and range of goods within Rudy's was, while the exterior shots provide a unique glimpse into the look and feel of our burgeoning city from the early 20th century.
